Before we jump into the review, I should mention that I am no stranger to Benq products or monitors.

In fact, I used the 32″ BenQ 4K PD3200U for about 4 years (which I reviewed here) which I was very happy with until I upgraded to the 32′ Apple XDR in 2021 which is in a class of its own.

BenQ’s monitors are heavily featured in many of our best monitor round up posts, so it is a pleasure to review another BenQ monitor here for you in detail again.

Design 

 

The design of this monitor is just amazing. It is ergonomically designed to ensure a comfortable position for users. You can adjust the height, tilt, swivel, and pivot to keep the monitor at your comfortable learning or working position.

It supports 5 degrees to 20 degrees tilt adjustment, 45 degrees swivel, and 90 degrees pivot in both directions. Also, the height can be adjusted up to 13 centimeters up or down. Apart from that, the edge-to-edge extra slim bezel design provides a seamless working experience.

The monitor provides an enlarged view and supports multi-panel configuration. The base has a compact design to save desk space, and it includes a cable management system. Overall, the monitor has an elegant design and is suitable for use at home and office.

Screen Display

With IPS panel technology, the 27-inch slim and bezel-less screen provides a unique working experience. The screen has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a brightness of 250 nits, although I do wish it went brighter especially in my bright office.

Although there is a lot going for this display, there was a distinct ‘fuzziness’ noticeable around graphics and text as shown above and I do wish the graphics were more crisp.

Worth nothing is that this monitor comes with the Eye Care technology of BenQ that ensures low blue light and flicker-free performance, particularly useful if you spend as many hours in front the screen as I do.

There is an optional webcam that you can put on the top of the screen that makes it easy to attend video calls or office meetings. As I use a DSLR for my webcam, this was not required.

Also, there is a Brightness Intelligence technology to adjust the screen brightness automatically depending on the ambient light. This provides a comfortable viewing experience and reduces the risk of eye strain. Further, the displayed images are optimized for the comfort of the eyes.

Microphone and Speakers 

The GW2785TC monitor comes with a digital microphone with a noise cancellation feature that delivers clear sound. It enhances your experience during office meetings and ensures that your voice is audible to your colleagues or clients.

It doesn’t cause any problems even in noisy environments, although these days these noise cancellation features are already included in video conferencing software, so this isn’t a big selling point or even required at this point.

This unique monitor comes with built-in speakers to provide a good sound experience, however, the sound quality was not very loud. They just produce mid-range volume.

So, you need to use additional speakers if you want to have a great multimedia experience. Although the presence of speakers makes this monitor unique, they don’t produce high bass or premium quality sound.

Ports 

The IPS monitor comes with a three-pin standard port for power input. There is an HDMI 1.4 port, one audio out port, one USB type C port, and two DP ports. Because of USB type C connectivity, the monitor is capable of delivering fast audio and video. Also, it supports up to 60W fast charging.

This monitor features a unique connectivity option known as Daisy Chain. It enables you to create a multi-monitor connection that increases the number of screens and makes your workspace clutter-free. At 1920 x 1080 resolution and 60Hz refresh rate, you can connect up to four monitors.

I simply plugged this monitor into my Macbook and it was ready to go!

Warranty 

The monitor comes with a warranty period of one year that covers manufacturing defects. In case you face any issues with the monitor within the warranty period, you can contact the BenQ customer support to solve the same. Thankfully our monitor had no issues.

The Care Mode controls the brightness and the color saturation to protect the eyes. This way, this monitor is great for working professionals and students.

It also has a Coding Mode that makes every color stand out to improve your efficiency. You can code in this monitor faster and better compared to normal monitors.

Furthermore, the Reading Mode eliminates the harmful blue light and provides a comfortable viewing experience.

The Eye-CareU software is a unique feature in this laptop that takes care of your eyes when you are looking at the screen. It is a special feature that keeps your eyes safe by adjusting brightness, color, and blue light settings depending on your requirements. There is a screen time management feature to remind you of the break time. As a heavy user, this feature really appealed to me as it did with my prior BenQ monitor.

The ePaper mode makes it easy to read eBooks by creating a clear white and black reading layout. It creates a comfortable reading environment for extended periods of reading.

Although this monitor has many useful features, this monitor reasonably priced making the overall value of this monitor outstanding, even with that lack of crispness.

The GW2785TC monitor is ideal for different purposes. It can be used at the home office, for work-from-home purposes. The ergonomic design and eye care features make the monitor great for use for long durations. Since the monitor has a versatile design, it can also be used in the office.

The special Eye CareU software and reading mode make this monitor suitable for students or creative professionals.

Moreover, programmers or coders can also use this monitor effectively. The special coding mode provides a better viewing experience and helps enhance the coding efficiency.

Also, you can use the monitor effectively if you need multiple screens in your workspace. The Daisy Chain feature will enable you to create a multi-monitor configuration for an efficient working experience. It is also a great device for normal use at home or the office.
