For the past three years, Blog Action Day has been bringing the blogging world together to talk about one topic. In 2008 the topic was poverty, in 2009 it was climate change and for 2010, the topic is water.

The purpose of getting the blogging world to talk about each topic is to spark a global discussion and drive collective action. I think water is a great choice for 2010, especially with the happenings of the past year, so I thought I would do my part and raise some awareness of the world’s water crisis. It’s not much, but it all helps.

If you want to help, feel free to sign the Unicef petition or donate. If you run a blog, you could write a similar post. For many more ways you can help, simply head to the Blog Action Day website.

A philanthropic over and out.

  1. Hey Jacob,

Thanks for bringing this up, as this is a very important problem in many countries.
I signed the petition and will write a post about this.

    Cheers
    Kierin

  2. I’m partecipating too. Blog Action Day is a great annual initiative and Water is so essential to water that’s even more important too defend it.

  3. Yes its time we all start to be more concerned with environment. I am going stop thinking what good would it do if i write one small blog post about a global problem…obviously your post is influencing people the way it influenced me. So I am going to promote the event and maybe someday I can make a difference too.
    Thanks for the idea.
