Facebook had its F8 conference yesterday and with it came some big changes, most notably the TimeLine, which I’ve tested out and it looks & functions great! Get your Facebook Timeline here.

Another recent bonus feature was the subscribe button which now means anyone can ‘subscribe’ to people’s posts on Facebook – even if you are not friends. This is a great way to get around the 5000 friends cap.

If you wish to get my updates on Facebook – mainly focused on design resources – then head to my profile and click ‘Subscribe’ in the top right corner.

Other places you can find me on the Interwebs:

  • Google Plus / Buzz – Add me here to join in on discussions & to follow my articles and Twitter updates.
  • Twitter – Follow me here to receive many design related resources & links. By far the most active place I am on the web. Updated multiple times a day.
  • Facebook – Join me here to stay connected & receive links I share. The second most active place I am on the web. Updated multiple times a day.
  • Just Creative Design Facebook Fanpage – Join the Fanpage to get updates via Facebook on new articles I post on Just Creative Design along with other articles and posts.
  • Logo Of The Day Facebook Fanpage – Join the fan club to get updates via Facebook on new logos I post on Logo Of The Day. Updated daily.
  • Logo Of The Day Twitter – Join this if you prefer only to get Logo Of The Day updates, rather than all my other Twitter links. Updated daily.
  • LinkedIn – Join for business networking.
  • Just Creative Design LinkedIn Group – Join this group to promote your own articles, ask questions and to discuss the business of design.
  • StumbleUpon – Add me here to see what websites I deem worthy of a thumbs up.
  • Delicious – Add me here to see bookmarked links I think I’ll need to come back to later. Updated daily.
  • Vimeo – Add me here to get updated whenever I make a video.

  1. I have to admit I’m intrigued by the changes to Facebook. Over the years I’ve become more and more alienated by the changes in layout and random adverts popping up all over the place and yes, I’ll admit it, I’ve been one of those pining for a return to the old layout.
With these new and vast changes though, Facebook has all of a sudden gone from being one of my least favourite social networking platforms to being the one I am most drawn towards.
What will be interesting to see though, is how many people are of a similar mindset and migrate back, to or away from Facebook in the coming months.

  2. Jacob, Although I have been, and for many years, an avid fan of Facebook, the most recent additions as well as changes have made my head spin, and not in a good way. I think that now that Facebook has officially become the number 1 socialmedia website in the world, they feel the need to just muck everything up so that they can feel that they are “keeping up with the times.” If they had just left well enough alone, I feel that the other “Facebookers” would not have so much to complain about. After I have said my peace, I find that Facebook is still a bit of the same ol, but then again, tomorrow they just might have 5 more new additions to their site.

  3. @Alexis
I find your comment interesting. While I agree that the privacy changes to Facebook are annoying and sometimes a bad choice, I must point out that Facebook is free. Just like with all Google’s services and any open source project, you trade your ability to say “you can’t do that”, for their free service. I think it was genius/devious move on their part. It makes me realize “there is (really) no free lunch.” Somebody pays for it. In this case, it would be the scores of people who are comfortable and do not want change. cheers.

  4. I use FB because so many people I know use it, and travelling as much as I do, it’s an amazing way to keep in touch with friends around the world… but I really don’t like it. The more complicated it becomes, the more extra features and changes, the less it is the original, simple, brilliant tool that people first fell in love with 7 years ago.

  5. I am still trying to get used to this feature. I dont really like it at all. I think it has a lot of privacy concerns

  6. I feel that Facebook are trying to do to much. I think their trying to incorporate all the features of twitter and google+ but it just does not work

  7. It is pretty cool, but I agree with you that they are trying too much. Facebook should be Facebook, Twitter should be Twitter, and Google Plus 1 should be Google Plus 1!

  8. Jacob,

Is it the timeline be forever in facebook? How can we change the timeline to the original facebook. This is my problem today on how to change the timeline in original facebook.
