January: Mammoth Resort
“We rebranded an entire mountain resort experience by bringing the authentic essence of Mammoth Mountain to life across all brand touchpoints with an iconic, modern expression.Come as you are!” is Mammoth’s mantra. It reflects the brand’s relaxed surf-on–the-snow California culture meets world-class destination resort, which we embodied in the new identity system and extended throughout guests’ mountain adventures. Bold, fun, and inclusive—discoverable visual elements in the logo pay homage to both the beloved “Woolly’s” tusks and to the mountain’s legendary deep powder.

May: Shoot to Kill
Remi Luxford and Tony Gardiner started Shoot To Kill in 2010. Two passionate filmmakers who have grown up in the film industry. Both recognised the need to apply their experience with a new approach to today’s client expectations. This young team has extensive experience working across the industry: producing, shooting, editing and directing everything from big budget TVC’s to drama, shorts and documentaries in Cambodia. Shoot To Kill brings the discipline and resources of big TVC production combined with a bespoke approach to each project.
The idea behind this logo was to not only bring to life the name itself but to also make it relevant to the service offering of the company. Instead of a tradition gun scope a camera scope was used making sense to a relatively quirky name for a film production company.
The logo is designed to work on any background in fact the cards were printed on a transparent film making the scope actually function how it would in real life, you can check it out here http://www.behance.net/gallery/Shoot-to-Kill-Branding/3746527

The logo for the “Mammoth Resort” makes great use of white space. I’m starting to see more designers making creative logos with the use of negative space. Do you see the use of negative space as a growing trend Jacob?
Chair is good, but it looks like a furniture company or something. Boundary is amazing! Good work 🙂
My favorites are Chair Entertainment and pregg(.)net
Preggo(.)net made me chuckle. Simple and creative, but genious. However, Organ Donation is what made me take a look at all twelve, and I have to go with that one. For the same reason.
My favorites are Chair Entertainment logo and Boundary logo, but the others are great too

I like the logo October: Inscripts and Pregg.Net. August: Organ Donation makes sense whle looking at it.
I think the boundary logo most win
Of them all, where there were a few chuckles, the one I liked best for it’s clarity and design was the Swiss Football. (and I’m sure that some thought it was ‘boring’) I DIDN’T like the boundary logo because I really could NOT read it very well, yes it was ‘pretty’ – but not ‘clear’.
There’s a difference between being artistic/pretty and real world application when the logo owner wants the logo to be instantly recognizable/tied into their product/service they’re selling – which is why the Chair logo is a good one too! Few companies have gotten to the recognition level of, say Nike, where their “slash” for a logo is self explanatory.
I think organ donation is the most versatile. Boundary is attractive, but wonder if it would present problems when translated to signage. Chair is clever.
I think the one for Organ Donation was the most impressive, but they’re all inspiring. Pregg(.)Net and Boundary also stuck with me – and I think this is the most important quality that a logo should have.
I like the pregg.net and organ donation. All of the logos are great, the way the visual element is combined with the name, so simple and memorable at the same time…
All are great, but Organ Donation works best.
I really liked the Organ Donation, Boss Hunting, Chair, and Preg.net. The Boundary logo was interesting, but it’s meaning is only going to be clear to other design and development wonks.
Organ donation!
I dig the organ donation logo pretty funny. Happy New Year!
Organ Donation is above all.
Organ donation got my vote.
funny thing is tho, whilst i do not have a steady stream of jobs, im trying out the frelancing websites.
now thisis an awsome logo, but it wouldnt win on one of them sites. 99% of the contractors are very narrow minded and not al all open to the designers
I think it’s the graphic of Graphen that made me vote for it.
[…] It’s been posted by anonymous 3rd-parties to design sites (with correct attribution), given awards, talked about on Reddit, added to inspiration lists, and gotten lots of pins. I was only made aware […]
Pregg(.)net is a really tongue in cheek logo design, but I imagine it could be quite divisive. Organ donation makes thinking literally in logo design really work, but personally I like the simplicity of the negative space logos.
I’ll be interested to see who wins.
I think the organ Logo is pretty good, recognizable design.
Nice article! It inspired me to interview some graphic designers and write about it on our company blog!

The ‘New Tab’ sucks. I paid money to support the developers of Dolphin and to not see ads. Now, every time I open a new tab, I see an advertisement. I don’t care if it is for a free app. It is advertising and I hate it and I paid money to not see it.Return the ‘New Tab’ functionality to the way it was before or give us the option of choosing our own ‘New Tab’ page.
I've no idea if it's this update or one of the hundreds of others, but google results are now much poorer. I still go to google out of habbit, but for the first time in ten years I reguarly find myself having to switch to yahoo or bing to get the results I need. Google needs to take note or risk loosing market share. The biggest turn off for me is the 4-5 results appearing from one domain, it takes me back to the days of AltaVista in the late 90's. come on Google save yourself by admitting you've messed up your results and fixing it!
Hay mate, these logos are extraordinary !!! organ donation is the best, no doubt. but i like boundary as well. what a inspiring works.

I absolutely love the boundary logo. Very clever intertwining of lines to give it a very dreamy look! Hope that wins!

The preg logo is priceless- see that’s why I truly believe that your logo doesn’t have to be overdone. All that took place were two open and closed brackets and a dot in the centre. Wallah!
